OMGers feast for a good cause

OMG retiree Cher Leadbeater, right, pictured with Gail Phillips, OMG’s senior vice president of association management, has a big heart for helping others through the Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank.

Good food for a great cause! As part of Organization Management Group’s community involvement efforts, staffers in the Chesapeake office occasionally enjoy wonderful fundraising lunches provided by long-time (and now retired) OMG employee Cher Leadbeater, who serves as program director for the nonprofit Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank.

Cher has a big heart for babies, and it’s always a delight when she prepares one of her meals for OMGers. As heartbreaking as it is, there are families out there who cannot afford to address their babies’ most basic needs and resort to reusing diapers. (The diaper bank also collects adult diapers, too.) Thank goodness organizations like the Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank exist to help these families and the smallest and most needy residents of Hampton Roads.

Did you know that:

  • Public assistance does not cover the cost of diapers?
  • Diapers easily average over $100 a month (babies need eight to 12 per day)?
  • Disposable diapers are required by day care providers? (No cloth diapers allowed.)

8OMG appreciates Cher’s dedication to the Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank and relishes the wonderful meals she creates to raise money for it. Learn more about this nonprofit at
