From the education to the Expo, the furry friends to the Fair Housing Reception, the joint Government Affairs-REALTOR®/Lawyer Forum to the generous freebies, the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association (HRRA) 2018 Conference & Expo theme of “Everybody deserves a good home. Adopt, don’t shop” was a howling success.

Hundreds attended the daylong event held at the DoubleTree by Norfolk Airport Hotel.

The April gathering included a morning packed with Alpha School of Real Estate-presented continuing education by instructors from HRRA as well as Dr. Paul Bishop, vice president of research for the National Association of REALTORS®.

The Expo, presented by HRRA’s New Homes Council, followed the morning’s education and featured over 35 booths from HRRA builders, new homes communities, mortgage and title companies, among others, plus free lunch and adoptable animals from Chesapeake Animal Services. Many Expo booth participants also brought canine friends to pose for photos and critter kisses. A caricature artist captured impressions of attendees, and a professional photographer on site took headshots for those ready to update their professional portraits.

The day kept rolling with a safety demo and joint Government Affairs-REALTOR/Lawyer Forum, which featured Virginia Beach Commissioner of the Revenue Phil Kellam, and concluded with a Fair Housing Reception in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act.
