The National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM®) has received a 2009 Gold MarCom Award for their 21st Annual Convention & Trade Show registration brochure. In 2009, NARPM® held their event in magical Orlando, Florida, bringing in their property manager and vendor affiliate members from across the nation for a week of education and networking. The MarCom Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications.

In this year's 21st Annual Competition, the Residential Resource was awarded a 2009 APEX Award of Excellence for Magazines & Journals - Print for its March 2009 issue. APEX awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success in achieving overall communications effectiveness. Previously, the magazine has won a 2007 APEX Award of Excellence, a 2006 Gold MarCom Creative Award, and a 2006 Communicator Award of Distinction for Print Media.

Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association (HRRA) has been awarded a Bronze Certificate of Merit for Creative Tactics from the Public Relations Society of America-Richmond in their 62nd Annual Awards competition. The winning entry was a button that members of HRRA wore on their annual trip to Richmond to meet with legislators at the state capitol, and it featured a message related to the ongoing “I am one”® public awareness campaign. >more

Organization Management Group Inc. (OMG) has contracted the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Center to provide personalized meetings management training for the executive directors and meeting management staff. Stacy L. Harvey, CMP, CMM has developed the training program and began implementation in December, 2008.

"The Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Center has made possible professional training that is both accessible and cost-effectivefor our company. Programs that were previously difficult for us to attend were made convenient by VTHRC customizing a training program based on our needs, available schedule and held in our office. As a result, not only did we receive customized training, but just as important, realized cost savings by eliminating travel expenses and time out of the office. This had the tremendous benefit of allowing all of our executive directors and meeting planners to participate and derive benefit from the program.

Stacy Harvey, CMP, CMM developed an effective blend of instruction, interaction and on-site experience that was as enjoyable as it was valuable. OMG has been awarded a 2009 Gold Hermes Creative Award for its newly redesigned services brochure. Over a year in production, the brochure is a "road map" of association management services that OMG provides, spotlighting each department. The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.

The Board of Directors of the Virginia Chapter of the CCIM Institute selected Chesapeake-based Organization Management Group, Inc. (OMG) to provide full management services for the Association effective DATE. Crystal Anderson will serve as Executive Director of CCIM of Virginia.
